We were very privileged to have the run of the Chatsworth Estate for a week. The kind fisherman (with licence) caught us a trout on the estate, I wanted him to throw it back, it was funny because we had to get it past the gamekeeper, it was a slippery blighter, it kept falling out of the bag onto the floor haha. We visited Bakewell famous for its tarts, (not the red light ones lol) also went the Eyam which is a famous plague village, probably haunted too. These photos are both HDR (high dynamic range photography) and faux HDR. Click on pics for larger view.

Location: Chatsworth (Derbyshire) - Chatsworth House
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Late twentieth century?
Further Comments: Bess, who finished constructing her home around 1560, is one of several shades to haunt this house. Mary Queen of Scots is rumoured to walk where she was once held captive, while a grey lady and a white woman haunt other parts of the building. The library is haunted by a transparent figure which drifts from shelf to shelf. The bridge on the grounds is haunted by a screaming woman who was forced to watch her baby drowned after it was thrown into the river by her partner.

I've caught three do you want one? I've got enough, fisherman catches us a trout in the late evening at Chatsworth. I wanted him to throw it back in, I felt guilty. I'm certainly no Bear Grylls!!

It was delicious but with a hint of gilt.

Further Comments: Said to haunt the upper area of the building, the old man could be one of the many plague victims from 1665. A white horse also haunts the grounds.

Update 2011: I now use Photomatix Pro 3

High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography is the process of taking several images (I used 3) at different shutter speeds and combining them into a single photo that contains no washed out or underexposed/overexposed areas. The result is a surreal, almost too perfectly lit photograph that contains a high level of detail throughout the image.
